Where I typically find rappers spitting verses about how many women they can pull or how much money they have in their bank account, I found Lil Dicky (real name David Burd) spitting verses about his Jewish heritage or his less than spectacular sex life. It’s not that it never happens, but it is indeed a rarity – especially in Rap music. I love it when I come across an artist that defies all of the stereotypes found within their genre. Lil Dicky explains how he came to be aware of the need to sound the alarm about the environment.In an effort to resuscitate a genre that is seemingly becoming more and more void of lighthearted and at times brutally honest material, Lil Dicky blasted onto the scene with his first full length, crowdfunded studio album titled Professional Rapper.

But the power to prevent this is in our hands! And not in a couple of hundred years either, scientists say it’s right around the corner. Oceans will be destroyed, super storms will become even more super, cities will flood, the air will suck, and we’ll run out of food and energy. If we don’t make massive changes to our behavior over the next twelve years, the damage we’ve done to this planet will be irreversible.
